For the Three Wise Men, the Journey lasted (if all the Script is accurate), approximately a full year in length. Can one possibly imagine how these advocates clung to their Dream through all they must have endured along the way? The hardships must have been much MORE than incredible! Nevertheless, they never relinquished the Quest…they Never “gave-up.” AND, in the end, their pursuit proved MORE successful than they could EVER have imagined.
Their story is not unique.
The centuries are filled with similar tales of the Quest for Dreams…both by individuals, and by groups and organizations.
ACROSS THE SEA OF YEARS
One of the most memorable pursuits has been, for the past several years, an object of considerable public interest…so much interest, that one of the national television stations’ ratings have risen to the highest ratings imaginable due to its broadcast of this remarkably fascinating story. Of course, I refer to the program, THE CURSE OF OAK ISLAND. This program documents the efforts of two brothers to uncover the mystery which has surrounded the island off the coast of Nova Scotia for HUNDREDS of years.
The mists surrounding Oak Island center upon the possibility that centuries past members of the group known as the Knights Templar buried and hid beneath the grounds of the island an incredible treasure. This treasure is reported to include the Arc of the Covenant, the tablets of the Ten Commandments, and the Holy Grail! The Templar Knights, however, were not the only group said to have visited Oak Island with treasures. The articles of Queen Antoinette’s gems, etc, as well as the treasures of innumerable Pirate fleets are also reported to lie beneath the grounds of the island.
The two brothers who are the center of the program, continue to display the total commitment to their Quest. They refuse to “give-up,” or to be deterred from their total belief in this matter.

The Quest for the Grail is a tale which has trans versed across the millennia and cultures of many, many nations. Sir Percival, a knight mentioned in stories surrounding King Arthur and Camelot, was said to have dedicated his Life to the pursuit of the Grail…and, as the stories tell, he was successful in this pursuit. Moreover, Percival was hinted as being of French heritage, and a member of the Knights Templar. HMMM!!!!
WONDERS OF THE NEW
WORLD
Of course, the majority of us could recall the Journey of Ponce de Leon in his attempt to discover the “Fountain of Youth.” Although history indicates this Spanish “conquistador” failed in his attempt, he like the advocates mentioned above, totally refused to accept defeat…he NEVER stopped or hesitated in his Quest.
Similarly, there are hundreds of individuals who have over the course of their Lives attempted to uncover the Truth underlying various tales of hidden treasures, creatures, and locales.
Remember the photos of the Loch Ness Monster? Bigfoot? Who could possibly forget all the history and fantastic stories surrounding the possibility of a culture which was overcome by the waters of the oceans? Recall ever hearing of Atlantis…and all the men and women who have followed the Journey of discovering this hidden Dreamland?
TO DREAM THE
“IMPOSSIBLE”
Many (MANY) years ago, while living on the East Coast, I was employed by a regional school district as their Director of Dramatics. In this role, I staged several award winning musicals, each of which, held a cast composed of several dozens of students. Undoubtedly, two of these productions which had the most widespread and influential influences upon their audiences (and the cast members), were the plays, CAMELOT, and MAN OF LA MANCHA.
Although more than 45 years have passed since the staging of these productions, the messages which they spoke have not diminished. Over the past two years, INNUMERABLE former students who participated in these productions have renewed their Friendship to me…each of them pursuing “something” from which they drifted apart over the years.
HOWEVER, for each and EVERY ONE of these persons, the “STAR” had never darkened…the Light of their Dream shone once again into their Spirits and into their hearts. AND…they once again stepped onto the Journey…the Pathway to Hope. I applaud their efforts…for SURE…and try my utmost to encourage them in their pursuit of Happiness.
THE SEASON OF HOPE
For most of us, the Season which is upon us at this moment speaks the Promise of Hope, of Peace, and of Love. Unfortunately, there are untold numbers of individuals who lack the factors which lead onto this fortunate Pathway. Some folks believe that since they have been without the possibility of Hope for so long, that the Light of their Dream has been extinguished.
NOT SO!!! The Dream is NEVER gone from our grasp! At Times, it may seem somewhat difficult to ever obtain, but it is NEVER gone.
Oak Island still contains hidden treasures. The Creature of Loch Ness still lives beneath the surface of the waves. Bigfoot still walks the course of the Wilderness. Atlantis is waiting to be discovered…and the Fountain of Youth still gurgles its message to us all.
The Three Wise Men were correct: the Star will guide us.
May the Star of YOUR Dreams cast its Light upon you…enveloping you with Hope…with Peace…and, with LOVE.
This morning my “Chief Physician” told me, once again, that my Existence is a true Miracle. But, then again, no more of a Miracle than the Lives of each and EVERY one of you.
JUST BELIEVE! JUST BELIEVE…and NEVER STOP!
